Everything to know before the trial.

Does it work with my IPTV provider?

Yes, if your provider gives you a server address, a username and a password (“Xtream” access, the most common kind). Paste the link they sent you: Kovo fills in the fields for you. A plain M3U playlist without Xtream access is not supported. Adding your server is free, so you see your catalogue before you even start the trial.

Does Kovo Player provide channels or movies?

No. Kovo Player is only a player: it provides or sells no content and is not affiliated with any provider. Use it with a service you are entitled to use.

How does the free trial work?

Once your server is added, play a video: Kovo offers to link a NextWatch account (free), then to start the trial. A card is required, but nothing is charged for 7 days. First payment on day 8 unless you cancel before. One trial per account.

How do I cancel?

At any time, at no cost: on link.com, or in the app (Réglages > Services tiers > Gérer l’abonnement, that is Settings > Third-party services > Manage subscription). Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. Learn more

What does the subscription include?

NextWatch Pro unlocks playback and downloads in Kovo Player, the NextWatch features (watchlist, recommendations, synced ratings) and the NextWatch app on iPhone and Android. Already a NextWatch Pro subscriber? Link your account, you don’t pay twice. Downloaded videos stay playable after the subscription ends.

Why pay when free players exist?

Because Kovo lives neither on ads nor on your data. The subscription pays for development, updates and the NextWatch service, by Code Family, a French publisher. The simplest is to try it for 7 days: if Kovo doesn’t win you over, cancel and pay nothing.

Which Mac do I need?

A Mac running macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. The app is notarized by Apple and updates are offered right inside the app. Its interface is in French for now.

What about my privacy?

Your servers, favourites and playback positions stay on your Mac, your credentials in the macOS Keychain. No ads and no analytics, in the app or on this site. Posters and synopses come from TMDB. Learn more

macOS says the app “can’t be opened”?

The app is notarized by Apple. If macOS still blocks it, open System Settings > Privacy & Security, then click “Open Anyway” under the message about Kovo Player.
